Are We Poor?

I think the financial tusmani has made us (SG) poor plus the you-know-who failed investments with the now burst investment company, we have to resort to this to get money.

I believed this problem has been there for so many years and they have been keeping it pretty quiet for all these years when the economy is booming. But why surface this problems now? Do you mean they suddenly woke up and realised that this is a huge sum we are talking about?

To make matters worse, if the system still have not changed, I remembered one can only pay these fines using cashcards. Now, how many of us have this card? I remembered a couple years ago when I was fined for a few cents, I have to go asked around with at least 10 person before I can borrow a cashcard to pay the fines. Why so rigid system? Why can’t people pays using AXS or over the counter at post office or even cash at the counter?

I used to love the library and have spent hours there. It was a community heaven where we can spend out time there, reading all the books/magazines without worries. Now, I feel that it has become like a business venture … tsk tsk tsk …. imagine, so stress over borrowing books and have to finish it within a short period of time and if overdue, the fines I have to pay ….

100+ Channels

I was on leave yesterday to get my cable tv setbox changed. Received the letter from Starhub a couple week ago, informing that with effect 1 Jul 09, they no longer support analog cable set box anymore.

Yes, I’m very old school. I was still using the good old analog cable setbox for all these years when most people already changed to the digital cable setbox.

With the new change, as a “new” customer, I was given all 100+ channels to preview for a couple of days! Oh my …. I am so spoilt of choices!

I just hope it won’t be difficult to “give up” this privileges when they turn off those channels that I did not subscribe to.

I realised I have been faithfully following the latest season of American Idol, right from the beginning. From the auditions to the hollywood week to the top 13. I must say this season is good so far, unlike the previous few seasons which I didn’t watch a single episodes.

I like the Top 13 especially one of my fav, Anoop, went in to make it Top 13 instead of Top 12. I feel that there are alot of talent here in the latest seasons and I’m quite interested to find out who make it till the end.

Some of those I like this season are:

1. Anoop - he is the dark horse

2. Alexis – i love her voice & her attitude

3. Danny – what can i say …. he is the man to beat

#1 Why is it that the air-con in the bus is always blasting & so cold when the weather is already cold but when the weather is hot outside, you always find the air-con in the bus hardly cools you???
