Sad

I read the news and I suddenly felt incredibly saddened.

You’re really never safe wherever you go.

Cherish what you have, treasure those around you.

Samples

This is what turns me to when the economic goes down ….. I got to know about this free samples websites called, fr3b, from one of the beauty forums I frequent.

Being a kaypoh me, I decided to sign up and give it a try a couple days ago. The first item I “grab” for free samples is the BRTC BB Cream. After paid a small fee for handling & delivery charges, 2 sachets was on the way to my letterbox.

There are quite a few of variety items to choose from. After getting the free samples, you have to write your reviews in the website to get more points to redeem for more free samples.

Check the website on how this works. I find it quite interesting and useful as I get to try samples first before committing to buy the actual products.

Zhou’s Kitchen

A colleague from China came down to SG office for an orientation this week and we brought him to this new eatery opened at Novena Square 2 for lunch today. Zhou’s Kitchen is part of Tung Lok group and it caters more to the average-middle-income families for casual dining. Price is reasonable, food is good, service is pretty fast and in orderly manner. We ordered the 6 persons set lunch and it costs about S$28 per person for six dishes (including dessert).

Each table is served with prawn crackers as we waited for our food.

Prawn Crackers

One of the dish I like is their Xing Hua Traditional Homemade Noodle. It is a bowl of udon-like noodles served in a starchy gravy that is light. Something like “mui fan” but instead of rice, it is added with noodles.

I would go back again to try their ala-carte dishes next time.

Crazy Weather

It was so HOT yesterday that I have difficulty in sleeping.

It is so cooling today that I feel like I’m in an air-con room.

Going to make use of the cool weather and sleep early tonight.

Avenue Q

Avenue Q

Avenue Q

Avenue Q was so funny, entertaining and relatable! This is so completely different then the usual musicals out there. The cast from Philippines were very good! I had initially wanted to give up my tickets due to work commitments, but now I’m glad I went. I give it two thumbs up. The adorable puppets, the good cast, the funny & R-rated songs is worth it. I especially like the songs on It Sucks to be Me and The Internet is for P***. Ha ha ha … Do catch it if you have not ….

Faith Is …

“Devotion is diligence without assurance. Faith is a way of saying, “Yes, I pre-accept the terms of the universe and I embrace in advance what I am presently incapable of understanding.” There’s a reason we refer to “leaps of faith” – because the decision to consent to any notion of divinity is a mighty jump from the rational over to the unknowable, and I don’t care how diligently scholars of every religion will try to sit you down with their stacks of books and prove to you through scripture that their faith is indeed rational; it isn’t. Faith is belief in what you cannot see or prove or touch. Faith is walking face-first and full-speed into the dark. If we truly knew all the answers in advance as to the meaning of life and the nature of God and the destiny of our souls, our belief would not be a leap of faith and it would not be a courageous act of humanity, it would just be… a prudent insurance policy.”

From “Eat, pray, love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.
