Blood Test

Went back to the doctor this morning as my fever hit an all time high of 39.6 last night. Almost going to the hospital. The temperature did drop to normal 3 hours later. The doctor suspect my throat and neck lymp nobes (not sure about the spelling) is very swollen inside and in a very bad condition. Changed my course of medication and gave me 2 more days of MC. Looks like I cannot eat my CNY goodies for now …. and have to cancel all dinner appointments ….

I still did a blood test to rule out dengue as I found a few red raches on my arm this morning …. results will be out tomorrow …

Guess What ….

I had to visit the doctor again for the XX times in two months …… Just when I’m going to be fully recover from all the illness, the fever hits me again last Sunday and I ended up sleeping in bed for the past 2 days …. I have never felt so weak in my life. When the latest bout of illness hit me again, I told myself, I MUST do something about it … This can’t go on anymore. I’m worried that my body couldn’t take it anymore with so much medication and I certainly do not want to end up in hospital during the festive season.

I have been healthy as a bull for the past 3 to 4 years and I’m the record holder for no MC award every year in my previous company. Eversince I joined this new company, I have been down with luck and not happy at all. With all the sickness and all, it really gets me down and I started to think that I might have accidently 弄到肮脏的东西。So after seeing the doctor yesterday, I asked my mom to bring me to the temple to 拜拜一下。Hopefully this will be the last illness and I will be healthy for the rest of the year.

Unproductive Weekend

I am feeling extremely lazy this weekend. Supposed to work on some work issues this weekend but didn’t have the mood to do it at all … think I’m going to have a very busy work week ahead with a system going ‘live’ tomorrow, visits to our auto group business units, training plus monthly reports due …….

Wanted to start doing some spring cleaning … but not a single space was cleaned! However, I did managed to get my hair cut done and finally brought a new red top for the first day of CNY and brand new bedsheet on Sat.

Body is also finally getting better with coughing at night to the minimal and finally able to get some good sleep without waking up a few times in the night to cough!

The second week of 2008 and I’m back to the office on Saturday …. sian …..

Have been having a persistent headache for the past one week. It just don’t go away. Throat is getting itcy again and nose is feeling “stuff”. I hope the sickness don’t back again. I finally recovered after one month and I sure don’t want to get it again so soon. I want to enjoy my CNY.

Speaking of CNY. I’m totally NOT ready for it. Have not started on anything. Though I have already bought some clothes (quite new since I only wear it once or twice) and new shoes, but I have yet to buy new bedsheets. Though buying new stuff is not ready, but I have got the rest plan out. Going to cut my hair next Saturday. Facial booked. Mani + Pedi booked.

While walking to Borders @ Wheelock Place last night, saw a tent promoting the Plantinum American Express Credit Card. Sign up for it. Quite a good deal as I will be getting the “Feed at Raffles” Card, plus many spa and hotel stays vouchers, plus will be getting a 80GB iPod for just $300.

Beauty World

Bought the tickets as early as October 2007. Finally, the musical, Beauty World is here. This muscial was written 20 years ago and storyline is simple and predictable. I briefly remembered watching the mandarin version on TV with Evelyn Tan as Ivy and Darren Lim as Ah Hock and that was how they fell in love in real life.

This version musical has a lot of newbies in the arts scene such as the main female lead, Elena Wang as Ivy Chan Poh Choo and Daren Tan as Ah Hock. I really like Elena Wang. She CAN sing! Her voice is crystal clear and acted very well. Daren Tan on the other hand, is abit stiff and not natural on the stage. He is just not “Beng” enough for the Ah Hock role.

Irene Ang was hilarious as the ma-jie who keeps saying “I doncha know ah” and I like it when she speaks in Cantonese in perfect canto accent. Neo Swee Lian is pretty ok for her role as mummy. The funny part came when Dwayne Tan who acted as Frankie Wong Fei Hong (Ivy’s boyfriend) came to Singapore from Batu Pahat to look for Ivy when he sing his rendition of “Ivy”. So comical ….. hahaha … Denise Tan as Lulu was ok lah … though I find her abit fat on the stage.

What I didn’t like is the ending! It was not what I expected and it ended so anti-climax. Overall, an OK musicals but I wouldn’t buy the best seats for it.

Blah

Most of the office people are returning to work after the long break … many of them went on a holiday and now the whole office are full of “oh, I went to XXX with the family and it’s so fabulous …. ” or “oh, I went to XXX, didn’t buy anything lah … everything so expensive … “

Welcoming 2008

Checked-in at 2 pm at Marina Mandarin. Although I didn’t get the room facing the bay area, they upgraded me to their premier rooms floor high up at 19th floor. The room view is facing the padang area.

When the clock strikes 12 midnight, we were at the 5th floor pool deck catching the fireworks from Esplande. No jostling with the crowd, no contribute to the 2 tonnes of rubbish, no human/traffic jams! We just went back to our room after the 8 mins fireworks.
