One Day Before the New Year

Working half day tomorrow and off I will be going to Marina Mandarin for a R&R. Will be catching the fireworks from the comfort of the hotel room … hee hee … no need to squeeze with the crowd this year.

Won’t be blogging much these few days as I want to be totally off from the computer. Want to begin my new year with a good start ……

In 2008, I hope to :

1) Smile more, worry less

2) Good health for the family and myself

3) Save more money

4) Do the best I can in work and don’t be too hard on myself when things don’t go smoothly

5)  Learn to be more patient and let go sometimes ………

6) Better relationship with the BF and move on to the next stage in life with him

7) Spend less time on the net, read more books

8 ) Eat well, sleep well

9) Happiness for my friends & family

10) Strength to enable me to do all the above ……

Goodbye 2007, Welcome 2008.

Happy New Year everyone …….

A Little Humour …..

2008 Travel Plans

A friend of mine just came back from a 3-weeks US trip and we were talking about it over lunch the other day. I missed my travelling ….. I only did two short trips this year and the last long trip was two years ago to the US. Any holiday that is less than one week is a short trip for me. This sets me thinking of a longgggggg holiday in 2008. Tentatively have draw-up some plans for 2008.

Feb 2008 – am thinking of going to Macau for a few days during CNY. Plans not firm yet as not sure whether the BF can take leave.

May 2008 – Shanghai. Plans pretty much firm as will be going with a colleague. Now just waiting for special air tickets promotion.

Jul/Aug 2008 – Hokkaido. The long trip I want to go. At least 2.5 – 3 weeks in Hokkaido. Might join a tour if I don’t have time to plan.

Aug 2008 – Taiwan. This is a back up if the Hokkaido trip cannot be materialised.

It’s Snowing ….

in my blog!! hahaha … thanks to the wordpress team … hee hee ….

It is another quiet x’mas for me this year. No partying, no turkey, no ham … the family basically don’t celebrate x’mas at all because we are not christians/catholics. It is the first x’mas for my niece though and she got lots of pressies from everyone. However, she is couldn’t really play with them as she is sick now …. :(

The BF and I were supposed to head down Sentosa for a night stay on x’mas eve but due to his work schedule, his leave was not approve :( and we ended up with just a x’mas eve lunch at Pow Sing at Serangoon Gardens. No gift exchange either as I have run out of gifts to give him …. socks lah, boxers lah, wallets lah, watches lah, t-shirts lah are all given liao … he is not a techie guy so no point buying ipods or whatsoever …. he didn’t give me any pressies either … maybe will get him another shirt for the new year … hee hee …

After a long 6-days break, its back to work tomorrow until 31 Dec. Surely don’t feel like going back to office tomorrow …. :(

第一次亲密接触

An exempt from  第一次亲密接触 :

“如果我还有一天寿命,那天我要做你女友。
我还有一天的命吗?……没有。
所以,很可惜。我今生仍然不是你的女友。

如果我有翅膀,我要从天堂飞下来看你。
我有翅膀吗?……没有。
所以,很遗憾。我从此无法再看到你。

如果把整个浴缸的水倒出,也浇不熄我对你爱情的火。
整个浴缸的水全部倒得出吗?……可以。
所以,是的。我爱你……

              轻舞飞扬”

Looking Forward to …

the six-days break I’m going to have …. I really need to rest my body as I’m still sick! I think as you grow older, it also gets longer for you to recover. My nose is still stuck and my cough is still quite bad.

In a blink of an eye, the year is coming to and end …….. it went by so fast ….. this year has been an eventful year for me … will blog more about it later.

Yesterday was my first x’mas party in this new company with the department. Met up all the HR colleagues from our other location offices and we had so much food that I skip dinner last night. Food comprises of the usual honey baked ham (an 8 kg one too!), old chang kee stuff (as we have one muslim colleague), yummy smoked salmon, salad, fruit cake, cheese canapies, wine etc. Sorry no pics as I was too busy preparing and eating the food. :D

Gift exchange is another usual event. Everyone supposed to get a gift between $15-$20. I got a set of cultery from precious moments …. just nice of the niece. hahaha ….

Everyone else is going off to holiday. The boss is away to Korea, another colleague also off to Korea this morning, the other colleague off to Japan. For me, no holiday this time round. Just staying at home. Supposed to go down to Sentosa on 24 Dec, but it seems it is not going to happen now as the BF leave is not approved. So mad at him! Now I have no plan to x’mas all because of him. @#X)*&$%.

Cough Cough

The cough is so bad that I have postponed my facial today to Thursday … so damn tired and absolutely no energy to work …..

What a day ……..

Shopping

Shopping in Orchard Road on a Saturday is a nightmare! No choice since I don’t have much time on weekdays to do my x’mas shopping. I’m almost done except for one more gift which I will get after my facial tomorrow. Bought some new PJs for myself from Cotton On, an Australian brand which is now available in SG at Wisma and Far East Plaza. Mind you, these PJs are not cheap!!!! I guess that’s because of the unfavourable exchange rates.

While waiting for Shu Uemura to sharpen my eyebrow pencil, went in to Gap to take a look since they are having sale now and ended up with a red t-shirt.

I dare not venture into the Mango sale … otherwise I will be much poorer by now. :P

Broken

image000.jpg

After weeks of late nights, stress and weekend work, the body finally broke down this weekend. Ended up with medical bills and lots of tablets plus an aching body. :(

I have fallen sick three times in a span of eight months in this new company. Bad 风水 and bad air I think ……

No, Its Not An Engagement Ring

 image002.jpg

Remember my post on the first gift? Yes, I bought myself the first x’mas gift of the year. Its a 0.32 carat solitaire ring from Poh Heng when they were having the 50% sale last week. I love it so much yeh … :D

Travel Mags

image003.jpg

I have spent over $50 in a span of 1 week on travel magazines at Kinokuniya. The travel bug hits me so bad that I have to travel in my mind … by reading all these magazines.

When I was in Hong Kong recently, I found this series of travel magazines from their 7-11 stores. It costs about less than S$20 per book and it is highly informative … the only bad part is, it is all in mandarin and the print is too small for my comfort … but I can just look at the pictures and dream that I’m in that place …. I lugged six of these books back! And when I was in Kinokuniya last Saturday, I saw them selling the Tokyo book at $28+. Then I saw the Seoul one which was not available in HK then. Quickly grab that book and have been flipping through all weekend.

* The one on Hokkaido is missing as I lend it to my colleague.

Lil Gal is Walking

The niece is starting walking now …. not very stable yet … but she’s progressing everyday :D Sometimes she walk so fast that it is difficult to catch a photo of her … hahaha
