:(

I think I’m super stress lately with all the closing-financial-year tasks to complete before 30 Sep! ….. stress until I got stomach flu … and running in-and-out of the toilet is no joke. On MC yesterday but still working from home almost every hour. The stomach is unsettling, the head is spinning …… 神啊!救救我吧!

I MUST quickly get well before my trip to HK on Thursday!

Mooncakes

This is the only mooncake I love! I always wait for this day to come when I can get hold of the famous Raffles Hotel Mini Snow-Skin Mooncakes with Champagne Truffle & Ganache. This famous mooncake always sold out within minutes of sale without fail every year. There are always long queue and sold out in minutes. You are lucky if you manage to get one. This year round, we are smart. We order online and get it delivered to our office. :)

Heavenly Bliss

My back hurts so bad that I need to give it a good rub. So off I went to Jurlique Day Spa at Wheelock Place for 1.5 hours Hot Stone Massage. I’m $180 poorer but body lighter …. I love it so much that I’m considering getting a package with them.

The place is nicely done up, small as they only have 4 rooms, one of which is a couple room. The room is clean, filled with nice aromatherapy smell and the one with the massage has its own private shower area.

Shake & Shake

Didn’t feel the one this morning at 7.30 am as I was waiting for the bus to go to work. Felt the 11 am+ one. Once again, we were told to leave the building. Just grab our handbags and go for an early lunch at the Singapore Polo Club.

The tremors is causing some distractions in my work. Already super stress and trying to finish checking all the payroll for this month, and yet these tremors is making me not able to get things done on time. And walking up & down 7 storey is no joke. One time ok, second time, I treat it for exercising, third time, oh god … do I have to leave the office?! :P

My lower back is hurting so much that it felt like it is going to break into two. :s

Tremors Again

Oh manz … the tremors happened again and this time round, being in Toa Payoh, the tremors at my building is so bad that my table and chairs are swaying. I felt so giddy. Quickly pack my stuff, laptop and off walk down the stairs all the way from 7th floor. We were all evacuated and asked to go back home.

The last time such huge tremors were felt was back in March 07, but being in Tampines, the impact wasn’t so bad and I actually didn’t really felt it until the second time. This time round I felt the impact immediately and was so scared.

Check out more news here.

Travel Bug

Checked the dates. Make a few phone calls. Tokyo trip is OUT. Cannot take leave as the travel dates is right in the payroll period! Plus, single fares to Tokyo is so expensive that it’s just not worth for a very short trip.

However, Hong Kong trip is possible this month end! Saving on accommodation again as same friend is going to HK on biz trip. Gonna book the air ticket this week! :D

Random Musings

Work is so busy that I hardly have time on weekdays. Its the financial year-end for us and there is so many things to do!

Managed to have some “me” time on Saturday which I went to watch Hairspray at the new AMK Hub. It is just a lovely movie that it helps to beat my stress away. I find myself enjoying the movie so much that my feet keeps taping away on all the songs.

Might have a chance to go to Tokyo next month as one of my friend is going over for business trip. Very tempted to just take a few days off and bunk in with her. Have been checking out the airfares, but manz! single fares are quite expensive. Going to call some travel agency tomorrow to check out the prices.

Saigon – Fun (2)

Ben Thah Market is similar to Thailand’s Chatuchak. You can find everything you need here under one roof. You must bargain! We bargain till siao, just for buying some sweets and coffee! hee =)

 city-hall_1a.jpg

City Hall of Saigon. No tourist can go in. You can only admire the french colonial styled building from outside.

general-post-office_3.jpg

General Post Office. Right opposite the Notre Dame Cathedral. A tourist favourite stop. Very beautiful french architecture left behind by the French. There has been no renovation or refurbishment since it was built but now there is a huge portrait of Ho Chi Minh which hangs in the interior of the building.

Notre Dame Cathedral was constructed from 1977 to 1883. This is a favourite place for weddings and the church still have sunday masses.

 opera-house_1.jpg

Opera House. A central landmark in the city. Built by the French at the end of the 19th century and renovated in the 1940’s. No longer used for operas but for occasional performances of vietnamese music. I love the french colonial feel.

The Reunification Palace saw the rise and fall of 4 presidents before the North and South Vietnam reunified. No longer used for state affairs, the palace is still very grand. The past presidents have such high tast for furniture and antiques. There is a tunnel that leads to nowhere. We almost got lost in the tunnel!

Saigon – Fun (1)

Thought I better finish off my Saigon trip before I completely forgotten about it.

Here are a series of photos of Streets of Saigon.

streets-of-hcm_1.jpg

Early morning scenes of Saigon. Motorbikes are the main source of transportation. It’s so scary and you have to dare dare cross the road knowing that if you don’t puck up the courage and  cross, you are stuck forever at the same place for a very long time!

 streets-of-hcm_2.jpg

Western influences in Saigon. However, the big letter “M” was not found in Saigon. Instead they have a Korean version called Lotte.

streets-of-hcm_4.jpg

Diamond Plaza. The “Takashimaya” of Saigon. Dropped by for a quick shopping. Found out that lingerine is cheap! Nothing special caught our eyes as the things here are expensive.

 streets-of-hcm_7.jpg

The well-known name caught our eye while walking. We didn’t go in as we shall not be tempted.

Who dare to drink this!

 streets-of-hcm_10.jpg

The backpackers area near our hotel. The area is bustling with much activities during day & night. Plenty of backpackers hotel, cheap eateries and shops.

An old lady selling some food stuff, trying to earn a decent living. You can see many of such old ladies everywhere.
