Prince Hour S (Goong S)

goongs.jpg

Managed to finish this korean drama series last night. It created a hoo-haa when the news broke immediately that there will be a Part 2 of Goong when the original Goong just endeed it run. Then the debate of the use of Goong 2 arises when both sides of producers accusing of each other using the name. So finally, Goong S (after changing the name of the drama) started its run in January 2007 in Korea.

I managed to get hold of the dvd and have been watching it on-and-off whenever I have the time. This show is not as exciting, funny and heartwarming as the original Goong. However, once again, the sceneries, the clothes, the colours are all beautiful. The acting was so-so only, they weren’t horrible, but consider the leads actors and actress are newbies to the acting world then, their performance were decent. Goong S did not do well in Korea. Ratings are not as good as the original Goong, which is kind of expected since the original Goong did so well! I continued to finish this show mainly because of the main leads, Se7en and Huh Yi Jae. Se7en certainly has a boyish look and his lips is oh-so-sexy! Yi Jae is a refreshing and bright lady.

Ladies Night (only if you’re under 36 )

Those who read the Straits Times on June 23 will know which story I’m talking about. This is downright discrimination. So what if ladies are over 35. You mean ladies over 35 is old, ugly and no use anymore?! So you only admit ladies who are young, attractive and probably, I bet, some are way underage to enter your club.Look at Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Camera Diaz, they are all over 35. Will you reject them from entering into your club? I don’t think so. So what if you are a female of 35 yrs old? Does that mean that all guys (whether younger or older) doesn’t like older women? I can tell you, ladies over 35 are the most mature, attractive, highly independent with money to spend. Your lost is someone else’s gains.

Organic Cafe Xperience

You can call me Novena Sqaure 2 kid (haha, too old to be called kid liao!) because of the visits to TTSH. Brought the mother to Organic Cafe Xperience for dinner on Friday night. Located just beside Pepper Lunch at Novena Sqaure 2/Velocity. I have been to this cafe at their Century Sqaure, Tampines branch many times. First time visit for the mother though. We had the Beef Fettucine and Seafood Oligo Oligo. Although the name is called Organic Cafe but not all their food are pure organic.

I love their beef fettucine. Don’t see the portion is small, but it is very filling after you finish the whole plate! Even the mother nod her head and said it is very nice.

Mini-Sized Me

herworld.jpg

Was surprised to find that Her World has been mini-sized! Oh well, just for their anniversay, the magazine has a limited edition handbag size. It fits nicely in my coach tote and lighter than the regular size. However, reading is abit of a problem as the words are abit small. Nonetheless, I hope they continue this mini-size for their future issues as well.

Sored Arms

Taking care of a sicky 5-months old baby is no joke. The little niece is sick and has been cracky all weekend. She cried all day and demand all your attention. Carrying her for most part of today and now my arms are so sored. I bet in another two months time, she will get so heavy that carrying her will be a painful experience. heehee

Vietnam?

Jet Star Asia is having a promo now and I’m wondering whether I should go to Vietnam? Which city is value-for-money? Ho Chi Minh? Hanoi? A friend told me about Danang, saying it is very beautiful. If anyone has any suggestion, please leave a comment. Thanks.

Maywa Denki

I had absolutely no idea what is Maywa Denki when my friend asked me whether I’m interested to catch this during the Singapore Arts Festival, which is happening now. I said ok just because my friend told me that it was a sell-out concert when it was held in Hong Kong late last year.

So, off I went to the Esplanade this evening to catch this watch without idea what is it and have no expectations. But it turned out so good, interesting and so different that I wished they have more performance instead of one show only.

So what is Maywa Denki? Copied from Sistics: Created and performed by Maywa Denki, one of the most innovative music makers in Japan, Mechatronica is a live musical performance in which the group, a serious/comic art unit that integrates art and engineering product invention and development, uses its own musical inventions/art/products. These have been created through complicated production processes like most machines, but lie beyond common sense in the realm of the nonsensical.Maywa Denki has won many awards, including the Award of Distinction at the 2003 Ars Electronica Festival, Austria. The group has toured Europe, the US and Taiwan to critical acclaim.

Search the net and here’s more information. Maywa Denki is an art unit produced by Nobumichi Tosa. It was named after the company that his father used to run bygone days. Its unique style is indicated by a term he uses: for example, each piece of Maywa Denki’s work is called “a product” and a live performance or exhibition is held as “a product demonstration.” The products produced so far include “NAKI Series,” fish-motif nonsense machines, “Tsukuba Series,” original musical instruments, and “Edelweiss,” flower-motif objet d’art. Although Maywa Denki is known and appreciated as an artist, its promotion strategies are full of variety: exhibition, live stages, performances, producing music, videos, writing, merchandising toys, stationery, and electric devices. As Nobumichi is still looking for a new scheme for a different approach to the public, Maywa Denki now in earnest begins to extend its activities to overseas, holding exhibitions in Europe (Paris, London) and selling Na-Cord in the United States in 2001. Maywa Denki is organized in 1993 as an art unit of two members (brothers), Masamichi (elder brother) and Nobumichi (younger brother) Tosa.
