Sometimes I don’t know whether I said too much. Just checked my office email and realised that a simple suggestion of improving the workflow has now going to be a mega project involving other people as well. Bleh ………
The weather was nice yesterday morning with a little bit of sunshine and some breeze. So, we decided to get away from the city and emerge ourselves in the jungle. This is not the first time I did the HSBC Tree-Top Walk. We decided to take the shortest route, knowing that its been a long time since we last both exercised.
Walking hand-in-hand, silently except some noices from the insects. Enjoying each other’s company. Forgetting the stress we had the week. This is a bliss. 
My skin and face are breaking out with pimples and red rashes due to:
- bad air in the new office
- poor ventilation
- sitting under a huge air-con with a blasting air of 21c
- skin is so dry that they feel so tight on my body

Received via email discounts coupons from Borders on Friday and went into another book frenzy yesterday. Three books only costs me $35, which originally could have set me back $50+.
Also bought the Power of Love of Ahmei. I like Ahmei’s songs alot. Her voice is so powerful and sang it with such gusto. This CD is a compliation of her popular, multi-award songs from the past 10 years.
It was very heartbreaking to read this news on the Straits Times a few days ago. My heart goes out to Alex Lim’s family, GF, and friends. I hope he wake up soon and justice be bought to the cab driver. I shudder to think that there is such cab driver around in the roads of SG. I wonder whether the cab driver can sleep soundly at night, with no conscience or is he praying hard that Alex wake up soon.
On another note, I’m also praying for a friend’s dad, who is currently in ICU, fighting for his life, to pull out of this ordeal and recover soon. Frenzo, stay strong and keep me posted on the updates.
Wanted to post this a few weeks ago but didn’t have the time to bluetooth the pic over until now. While doing my very short stint at Shenton Way two weeks ago, I chanced upon the famous Depot Road Laksa at Market Street. Price is on the high side. If I remember correctly, the original laksa with 鸡丝 costs $6.90 while the one I had, with prawns set me back $8.90. But I must say, its worth it. The gravy is thick, chilli is super hot, noodles springy. We also ordered side dishes like otak and chicken wings which is very nice too. Too bad they don’t open on weekends, otherwise I would love to bring the BF for a nice meal.
Barely two weeks into the new job and I’m already working way past 8 pm since last Thursday. I’m already feeling exhausted! 人老不锺用了。The fact that I start work at 8.30 now (compared to 9.30 previously) means I have to wake up at leasy half-an-hour earlier.
Though work is busy and stressed, so much to do yet so little time, and I’m still trying to understand the company’s business strategy and meeting with various managers, it has been challenging and interesting so far.
One thing good though is I’m saving quite abit now. With no malls near vicinty and a staff canteen within the office building with cheap food, I don’t get to spend alot of money on food. A typical lunch in the canteen only costs me $2 with enough portion to last through the day. Even eating at the hawker center opposite the office is cheap enough with just spending slightly over $2 to $3 a meal. The only thing I’m worried about is that all hell break lose when I go downtown on weekends after depriving of shopping for one whole week! hee hee …..
My first pair of red shoes. This is also the first time I bought shoes from another brand I never use before. From Pazzion. At $63 a pair, it is rather expensive but I have been hunting for a red pair for some time to match a new red/black dress I bought recently. None catches my eye until this pair. Heels not that high and it’s super comfy.
Did alot of walking this long weekend. Shop alot too but didn’t buy much. Other than this pair of shoes, the rest are some biscuits from Watson for office. Went to the Centerpoint new wing, and it is such a letdown. Small and nothing much exciting. Disappointed. Pop over to Vivo City, went searching for a laptop monitor 3M Privacy Filter. So difficult to find because it is not common in SG and damn expensive. Freaking $159!! Somemore most of the computer shops here don’t sell for 12′inch monitor size. Now that I’m sitting in an open area in the new company, everything I work on my lappie can be seen by people walking past. So I need these from prying eyes as my work involves lots of confidential materials. Think I will order from Amazon and get it shipped here for less than $100. Or if anyone knows where I can get this cheaply, drop me a comment with details.
is finally here … have been waiting for this long weekend like forever. Going to get my facial done today, do some shopping, and catching up with my dvds. Relaxing leh …… Wish I’m travelling to Japan or some beach resorts for some R&R, but am contended with just stay put here in the comfort of my room.
This is the Scotts now. No longer a shopping mall. The mall are now being demolised to build a new site called Scotts Square, a luxury residential apartments and up-market shopping mall. Well, we gotta wait till year 2010.
A bit sad to see this place gone because the BF and I had our first date there at The Coffee Bean. I remembed that it was near chinese new year, enjoying our coffee with beautiful mandarin 古筝 music played by the performancers.
