Ikoi Japanese Restaurant

Located at Hotel Miramar at Havelock Road. You HAVE to a reservation. The place was so crowded on a Friday night! Basically, its an ala-carte buffet at S$30+++ per person for dinner. The best thing about this buffet, you don’t have to get out of your seat. Just order anything you want from the menu. They have sashimis (very fresh!), sushis, tempura, udon, sobas, chawanmushi (very smooth!) etc. Its free flow and they have nice complimentary soup and green tea. Seven of us were sitted in a private room (VIP leh! haha). Ambience and deco is pretty normal, nothing fancy.

Sushi Lunch

Lunch was at Sakae Sushi because of the 9th anniversay promo … 9 coloured plates for $9 only! A real steal. Ends on 23/9.

Baby Suri

I don’t really follow this Tom & Katie stuff. Not really a fan of either. But I just love this photo of Baby Suri & Tom. So sweet …. and I think Baby Suri is beautiful and cute. The tabloid is too hush on the whole thing. Bad press!

Insomnia …

… is coming back! I was up from 3 am to 6 am, and when I finally fell asleep and woke up … I was late! Woke up at 7.30 am!

Remembering ….

Overheard on the Radio Today

that Disneyland is in talks with the singapore government to build a theme park here. Heard the news from the morning trio at FM Yes 93.3. According to sources, Disneyland Singapore will be constructed next to Marina Bay Golf Course, opposite of the new IR. The land size the government will allocate to Walt Disney is still under discussion, but sources revealed that the size of Disneyland Singapore will be roughly the same as Disneyland Tokyo. Disneyland Singapore will be a more compact theme park with some of its attractions build inside buildings.

Snow Flower and The Secret Fan

This is the first book I read by Lisa See. Couldn’t put the book down once I started and again, in record time, finished the book within one week. Although this story centers deeply upon the historical and cultural aspect of foot binding in the Chinese culture of old, this story is more about the life long friendship of two girls as they grow into old women. One girl wealthy (Lily) and one poor (Snow Flower), these young girls were united in traditional rights to be “Old Sames” when they are seven years old and form a bond that would be stronger than the future marriages to their intended husbands. Once married and seperated by miles, they communicate in a secret language of women on their special fan sent back and forth. However, later on they become seperated by a mis-understanding of the words on the fan that threatens to destroy their friendship forever.

Brain Dead?!

Have not been able to logon to internet the past week or so. Thus, no posts for the past week. Also, nothing exciting happened. Maybe i’m brian dead!? Finally connection is through today! Will put in some posts/photos during weekend when my brain is not so dead. Hmmm ….. what am I saying?
